What's the fastest/best way to get from Long Beach Island, NJ to New York City using public transportation. I tried searching Google but I couldn't make sense of what I found. I know I have to at least drive out to Manahawkin first.

Well, the last stop on the Coast Line train is Bay Head which is like 50 minutes North of Long Beach Island. You could take a bus from Manahawkin into Port Authority with one change in Toms River. That will take you about 2.5 hours and cost you $23.50

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

137 bus to Toms River. The drive from Toms River to LBI is about a half hour. I was born and raised in Beach Haven and live in Manhattan presently. This is the way I take when I visit my family.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body
