Not what I expected. It sounds like his later stuff. I was hoping we would get something closer to the Thriller or Off The Wall sound. I suspect there are songs in "the vault" from that era.

It's certainly interesting- but like "Free as a Bird" (The Beatles single that used chunks of an unreleased Lennon composition and finished by the surviving Beatles) it's a sad sad imitation of Michael at his best. When a superstar artist doesn't release a record, there is usually a VERY good reason.

I wish there was a way to ensure his father never saw a penny. But that really is wishful thinking, I know.

My hope is that the album will be mostly work he was about to release. But, from what I understand, there will be releases of stuff that is found and unfinished. One can hope the people finishing them know what they are doing, but I do think joe has a point. It will never be precisely what Michael would have released. And it may be stuff he would rather stay hidden.

Having said that, if people take his tracks and give them the brilliance of the Thriller/Bad era, that might be a good thing. I feel like Michael got stuck musically, and it wasn't always the best sounds. Seemed like he wanted to work with new producers who could have given him a new sound, but it always ended back where he had already been musically (but not back to the Thriller/Bad sounds).

They need to call "Q" in (Quincy Jones). I am listening to it again right now. It was early when I first listened to it so I had the sound down. I like it a little better upon second listening.
