Posted: 8/12/08 at 7:16pmThese absolutely take my breath away! The most beautiful pictures of the most beautiful city in the world. I want them all - in one of those huge, glorious coffee table books. (If you were to load them up in someplace like Kodakgallery.com then I could put the ones I want together in a book. Any chance of that? I'd pay you)

You will never run out of things to photograph in NYC. I really love your night shots.

Good, DON'T care! It's worth it!
There is something truly magical about New York City when there's no one on the street but you, you know?

Your photographs are exquisite in every way.
What camera are you using?

THESE ARE EXTRAORDINARY!!!
What a magnificent eye you have for hidden beauty in our concrete jungle! I want to make them all my computer desktop! Do you sell your art? Put up a stand in Union Square's art-fair, boi!
I'm kinda turned-on right now (haha) --- good photography is just so stimulating for the senses!

People stare and snicker at you for using a tripod? They probably have just never seen anyone focus on a task longer than 3 seconds outside of a Starbucks.
Beautiful work!! Glad you were able to get a job, too.

You have a really good eye. Those are very nice photos.
You asked :
if anyone has any suggestions of where I should go next... please let me know!
and only for this will I offer these suggestions. First of all, not all of the photos came through, I saw about half. Too much data for my connection, I guess. But here's a suggestion:
Your photos are mostly street level. Consider going over the streets and under. You show well the place, how about the people. That can be harder because some people don't like to be photographed. And it's just a suggestion you can take with a grain of salt. Some do better photographing things, some do better with people. But ultimately , people make the place and from what I've heard, NY is rich in its diversity of people.

BWF - I use a Canon 40D with the Canon 24-70mm 2.8L Lens.
Eug - i wish i knew how to sell them. i could use the money.
NYGirl - not snicker really, but i'm sure i look crazy with a big tripod and huge camera in the middle of the crowded city. oh well! i dont care at all...

Count me in as a fan, too.
And in my opinion, you can never go wrong with a trip to the Bronx Zoo...

Posted: 8/12/08 at 9:00pmI want to frame some of these and hang them up. Seriously.

Posted: 8/12/08 at 9:06pmThese photographs are extraordinary. I have to think there's a market for them (this thread alone would indicate that), but I don't know enough to offer up suggestions. Maybe you could talk to someone about setting up a website? I, too, would love to have many of these as framed pictures.

Posted: 8/12/08 at 9:33pmAs someone who has carried a tripod and an SLR camera around my school campus shooting photos for a class project at night before, people will stare, but it doesn't matter. I can guarantee most of them probably don't know how to take quality photos. And besides, they probably don't understand that you need a tripod for night photos or they come out all blurry.

Posted: 8/12/08 at 9:35pmwow those photos are nuts. Pretty much all I have on the walls of my apartment are NYC photos bought off the tables in the touristy areas. These pictures are just a million times better than the stuff I have.......you gotta put out a table in Union Sq where we could buy them!!

Posted: 8/12/08 at 9:46pmSeriously Pab - Figure out what it would cost you to print them or get prints made by an outside company. Add in your costs (including your time and effort) and then add a profit for yourself. Offer them here first and if it works out for you, set up a web page to offer them to the world. Have Paypal handle the payments (and don't forget to add in their charge) and see if you can make a few nickels. I would LOVE to have a large print of a few of these!

CP, one thing you don't have to worry about in NYC is people thinking that you're weird. That's one of the things I love about it.
I can't wait to see what you do with New York at Christmastime!

Posted: 8/12/08 at 9:56pmMamie's right. I'd buy one. In fact, my problem would be trying to limit myself to just one. Seriously, pal. figure out a way. These are extraordinary.
