New Report Abusive PM Function

Just FYI, there's a new link at the bottom of private messages, right next to 'block user' entitled 'report PM as abusive', which will send the contents straight to us.

We'd received a complaint last night, and being that all PMs are encrypted, I realized that we'd needed a way to allow a 'forward' to verify abuse, so this now packs and sends the contents straight to me to then jump on the problem.

Jane, our messages are still private. You can't forward private messages to other members.

Really glad to hear that this feature has been implemented. Thanks very much, Rob. Here's hoping that the knowledge that the feature exists will nip future threats and abuses in the bud.

The only people who should be worried about it are those who misuse private messaging.

Mr.Roxy sent me a NASTY PM last week after I responded to a post in one of his threads.He even started a thread 'calling me out' because after he sent me his PM I sent one back then blocked him. Wish this function was available then. I would have DEFINITELY sent this PM to the mods.

I'm glad you haven't received abusive or threatening private messages, Jane. I have, and was told nothing could be done about them because they were encrypted and could not be accessed, not even by the administrators here.

Obviously enough people have had problems that the issue has had to be re-examined. I may be wrong, but it sounds like the administrators still cannot access a private message unless you send it to them, but either way, the posters who have had free rein to be as nasty, abusive and threatening as they wanted to without any repercussions are now on notice.

If privacy is still a concern for you, you can no doubt exchange emails with the people you wish to communicate with.
