I just read that Fox announced plans to put out a new X-FILES Movie in 2009 and while I'm personally excited about this, it will be 11 years after the last film was released and 7 years since the show went off the air so my question is - Will anyone even remember how the series ended or much less care at this point??
I pretty much stopped watching after Duchovny left. I hate that the series went on without him, and eventually without Anderson. But still, I'll see the movie.
I am one who thinks that no one will care. There is a feeling of "been there done that". The series, by the end, got so convoluted that it just seemed to implode in on itself.
I was a huge X-Files fan starting in Season 2 (I even went to two cons), but...a new movie for the two people who couldn't really restart their careers after the phenomenon was over? Who cares? Not I!
I would be in the movie theaters in a heartbeat!
My wife has been watching the progress of this since it was first rumored when the show went off the air.
I can assure that that she cares and I'll be there with her.

I think it could be really fun if they just do a spooky monster movie that has nothing to do with the "mythology" or space aliens or that crap.
Yep. Like some of the more memorable...and fun...X-File episodes. My favorite episodes tended to be the ones with a sense of humor.
And I'll be there on opening night no matter WHAT they do, as long as Mulder and Scully are there.
