re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

You guys! Thank you for the welcome. It means a lot. I am here for a whole freaking month (!) so I will meet up with as many of you as I possibly can in that time.

And now, about those Oscars. Dull, weren't they? Well, luckily for me, I was in good company re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!. But now, the jet lag is starting to kick in (I am trying not to think about the fact that I have been awake for 24 hours), so I am going to go get some shut eye. See you all soon

And I thought the Gates was up until tomorrow? It was my number one priority. Oh well........

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

It will take them a while to dismantle the installation, so if you get to Central Park in the morning you'll be able to see them...

And, WELCOME! re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

If you drop me a line perhaps there might be time enough to view them from our windows in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle.

Let me know.

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Welcome to the greatest city on earth, popcultureboy! :)

Honestly, I don't think that you're missing much if you don't see The Gates... Am I the only one who felt like I was wandering into some freakish construction zone every time I walked by Central Park recently? Me = not a fan. In ANY case, as some others have stated before, you'll be able to see them in the morning if you go early enough. Good luck with that. Let us know what you think if you get to see them. If anything, it's interesting.

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Well, seens as how I am awake so obscenely early, I am going to wait for rush hour on the subway to be over and then brave Central Park to get me a look see at what's left of The Gates before getting on with the rest of my day......

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Today was......cold. And tiring. I walked around A LOT, saw The Gates, walked all over Manhattan, had coffee with the delightful Robbiej, saw Kinsey and then thought I should head back to Queens before I got snowed in. So yes it was fun, but I need to sort my body clock out and then it will be EVEN MORE fun. But today was only day 1 of 30, so I have plenty of time.
