Posted: 4/14/04 at 10:43pmOhhhhh, PLEASE bring cameras. I gotta see that! Not to mention photographic representation of Bulldog and Jose, like J. Edgar and Clyde, only more musical, in a "golden age" of Pre-Stonewall kinda way.

Posted: 4/14/04 at 11:05pmWhat about women?. Can women be "women" or is that not family friendly?, he asked the person who recently mentioned "starf***ing" for the first time ever on these boards.

"[w]hat exactly is this thread about?"
starf***ing radical right wing fascists and the broadway fans who love them, i think.

Posted: 4/15/04 at 10:51amAsk Jose for clarification. The thread was about one thing. Then he threw in something and hinted it was about one thing, then said it was about something else. Just like Jose's quizzes, (and back story), filled with holes and only makes sense to him and Bulldog.

I don't know what this thread is about anymore, but surely there's enough legit discourse about this president's performance and its aftermath to fill pages.
Read the letters in the NY Times today, those of you who read that biased, liberal rag. I was particularly fascinated by one letter from a woman who accused the Times of spreading "doom and gloom" after the upbeat speech Bush supposedly delivered. I don't think he's exactly dabbling in Reagan's "Morning in America." As Master and others have posted, it's "mourning" in America. Also in the dirty liberal propaganda sheet today: A whole page devoted to the faces of the 64 dead. DEAD. In his speech, Bush euphemised the death of these men and women, many of whom are 18 and 19, by saying "...they paid the ultimate sacrifice." But avoiding the "d" word is just part of the campaign to avoid too much ugly shock as we stand awed by his perserverence.

"they took us to see the secretary of the interior. 'you boys sure look civilized', they said. they gave us medals for looking so civilized. we told them our land was stolen. 'endeavor to persevere',they said. they stood us in a line and took our pictures. the papers said, 'indians vow to endeavor to persevere'. we thought about it for a long time... and when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the union."

i'm not sure what about your last post brought this to mind, auggie.

Even his malapropisms have a minimizing effect. In his press conference he referred to the people "who lost their life." Actually one person loses his or her life, more than one lose "their lives."
Unless of course, it ISN'T a malapropism but rather part of what Papa thinks is his desire to APPEAR like a bumpkin and then zoom in for the kill. In which case it's wildly offensive!
