Has anyone ever had problems (specifically with a Sony) power adapter where the metal section of the tip gets so hot it starts to....melt and deteriorate?
This recently happened to mine. I called up Sony and found out what probably caused the problem, which was that my laptop was on my bed, and got really hot because the vents were blocked. I bought a Lap Desk, which seems to have fixed that problem. However, now my adapter doesn't fit correctly and I usually have to jiggle it around to get it going. I'm planning on buying a new one, but my mother is concerned that perhaps the tip was so hot that I may have caused damage to the inside of the computer.
Has anyone had similar problems? Or know if that's even possible? Thanks.

I don't know how to help you, but thanks for the heads-up, seeing as we have the same computer.

They have the Lap Desks at Bed Bath and Beyond, Barnes and Noble, and Staples. Pretty colors, too.
