Posted: 11/23/10 at 3:19pmOn November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked a 727 plane and threatened to blow it up unless he received $200,000 and four parachutes. It is believed Cooper jumped from the plane somewhere over the state of Washington and neither he nor the money was ever seen again.

That's such a bizzare story.
Isn't it presumed that he died?

Only about $5,000 was recovered. Was it lost by Cooper (Not his real name, by the way- a pseudonym. No one knows who he really was) or was it dropped there purposely to make investigators think he was dead? Authorities speculated the bills had been dropped years after the hijacking- but others were sure they had just turned up after being dislodged by dredging in the area.
The F.B.I. has investigated over a thousand "serious suspects."

Posted: 11/23/10 at 7:11pmYeah, that story has been a subject for speculation for decades...which reminds me of another "missing" person...Olivia Newton John's "ex" hubby I think it was speculated that he faked his own death and took off with a ****load of dough...? What's up with that?...I forget if there was a "resolution" to that tabloid story...anyone?
