I spent all day Tuesday and todays in shul, had an alliyah to bless the Torah, sang with a quartet at services, was wined and dined, cried laughed, prayed and now I am focusing on Yom Kippur. If I have offended anyone in the past year, I am truly sorry. Now Iam off to start concentrating on forgiveness for my sins and to be sealed in the Book of Life for another year.

You were wined and died?
My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

Only Yenta would have the moxie to post a message here after she had "wined and died".

Thank you Namo for pointing out my sin of not spelling things correctly!

Dolly Pop, I have corrected my error. I am so exhausted after the past two days..........I am allowed a small error.

I'm just sorry that you're dead. There's no sin in dying.

The wine you were consuming must have been of the Elderberry variety.
You should have waited for the third day and then come back to life. Whoops...wrong religion!

Not only am I dead, but I lived to tell about it! Perhaps there was more wine than dine.

Don't mock the dead, DP.
Grovers, we hardly knew ye.

The wine I had was Teal Lake Petite Syrah. It is a very good Australian kosher wine. Do I rate a Perils Of Alcohol speech?

I think this would be a good thread for people to share their happy memories of the late Grovers.

Yenta was such a kind and gentle woman. She got up everyday at 4 a.m. to bring meals to shut-ins, scrub the floors in her synagogue, visit the sick and bring double lattes to needy Jewish American Princesses who were too busy getting their hair done.
4 a.m.!! HA!!
Yenta,
Like you I was seperated from my family for the holidays, but was surrounded by friends that I love, so it was very good. I had a VERY meaningful holiday and some very introspective and reflective prayer. Glad to hear you had as good a time as I did.
My only problem now is adjusting to the real world and starting my Marketing case study that is due in less than 12 hours.

After spending Rosh Hashana with my mother, I feel like I was Whined to death, and at times, wish I could have died.
OK, one more to atone for now.

For the past two days I have been thinking about the Jewish communities in the Gulf area. Many have had their synagogues deystroyed or severely damaged. Some Torahs have been so damaged by the floods that they can't even be repaired. It takes a long to write a Torah since it must been done by hand by a special scribe. Yet, people have survived.
