I bought mine when they first came out. I'm very happy with it and will keep it. Not interested in anything newer. I'll save the money to spend on satellite radio once I figure out how to get it installed in my new car.

i think it is funny that apple did this right after the biggest christmas ever where iPods were THE gift to get/give. they've been around for a few years now but this past winter sales REALLY took off, and now this...

i feel betrayed...

Just be glad you weren't the one selling the Ipods during Christmas season, or rather not selling them and turning away the angry customers imforming them we're out...And it was even more fun when we got shipments because each Ipod comes in its own seperate cardboard box and I got to open 200 at a time...Big fun!

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

Haha, I love the text on the page:

"Everything Sounds Better in Color"

But I'm considering buying one anyway, and this new upgrade doesn't really alter my opinion...but I'm still going to hold off. I'm working for 5 weeks this summer, so I damn well deserve to spend a bit of my earnings. =D I'll get the 20 GB, although at this point I have 18 GB of music anyway..uhoh

I don't care if my iPod is obsolete. I'll keep it as long as it can play my music.

I'm not a gay stereotype. I'm a coincidence.

Wait, I can trade in my iPod for a color one if I bought it after Christmas '04? Someone please inform me, because I'm a slut for pretty colors and I MUST HAVE THE NEW iPOD.

How does freeipod.com work? Do they just give you an iPod for free?

*rolls eyes* Who looks at the ipod's screen while listening to music? At least, I don't. I am very happy with mine...it works...it holds the right amount of songs for me...who cares about the colors?

A most ingenious paradox.

I'm actually running out of space on my iRiver...and I'm sure after I add all these recordings I got from the library, I'm going to need more memory...i think I have...a little less than 3 Gig left, but the stuff I ripped is well over 4 gig. re: Now that your iPod is obsolete

Once again, is the freeipod website a scam, and does everyone get one who applies, or just certain people?

Yes, people here have used those websites and apparently it's worked.

I could care less about the color iPod, but I do kind of wish that I had waited just a few more months to get the iPod shuffle. Running with a huge freakin' 20 gig bouncing on your hip isn't exactly fun.

my ipod is a 3g 15 gig...when the battery on this one goes I will probably upgrade...but not because of the color screen..I want something larger.

Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

I don't have an iPod and I really don't need one...what I need is a waterproof MP3 player, which I might buy anyway.

Do y'all remember CD players? Well, mine still works.

I know this is stupid, but whenever I see CD player I laugh at how inconvenient those things are, now that I have the luxury of advanced technology.

Psh. Im just fine and dandy with the one I have. As long as it plays music, I don't care what the screen looks like..... more often than not, it's on my bag or clipped on my belt anyway; I almost never look at the screen.

Aside from which, I am not shelling out a crap load more money just so I can see the cover art while Im listening to the song. If I wanted to do that, I'd look at the cd lol

cowbell,
apple now has a "recycle your iPod" campaign where you can turn-in your "old" iPod and receive 10% off a newly-purchased iPod...
