now that the new color iPods are available and apple has a "recycle your iPod" campaign in which you turn in your "old" (i.e. bought christmas 2004) iPod for a new iPod with a color screen and more memory, what will you do??

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:24amhardly "obsolete" - and the discount is only 10 percent. While perhaps an incentive for some, it's not for me as I am quite happy with mine.

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:25amI bought the 60 right out of the box, so I am good until they offer an 80.

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:27ambut the "me generation" has to have the latest, greatest. and, hey, even i am now embarrassed of my colorless iPod so i've taken to coloring my screen with magic marker....

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:27amNot obsolete at all. I like it just the way it is. Mine was a b-day present and is inscribed in the back... it means a lot more than a color screen.

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:28amI bought a Mini in March on a discount that my company gets...and I still only have about 300 songs on it. I'm doing fine and dandy with what I got!

but a color iPod is what you NEED. EVERYONE will have one, and YOU won't.

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:31amI got mine for free thanks to freeipods.com so this wouldn't be a bad deal for me. That being said I don't have to have the latest and greatest and I am quite happy wiht my free 20G.

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:41amSilly liotte. What you need is the latest and greatest. Always. So any time there's any kind of update or improvement, no matter how specious, you must buy it. Disagree? Don't worry; if you don't update on your own some shoddy hardware will force you to do it anyway. Ah, Corporate America.

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:44ami still don't know how to use the iPod i have. It would be like upgrading your boyfriend before you've used all the functions of your old boyfriend.

Posted: 6/29/05 at 10:50amWell, I know a certain university that gives ipods to their incoming freshmen... I wonder if they will get the updated version this fall. How angry the underpriviledged sophomores will be with outdated ipods!

as the ONLY person who does not have an iPod (don't you feel sorry for me?) I'll gladly take one of your old useless boring obsolete iPods off your hands while you fork over the bucks for a new one...

Posted: 6/29/05 at 11:10amI have to admit that I was very frustrated that the photo iPod was announced right after I bought mine. Being the picture person that I am and all, but frankly I'm content with what I have.. it's not worth spending the money for a new one, as far as I'm concerned mine still is new. It's less than a year old and unless it breaks I wont be getting a new one anytime soon.

I have a 40 GB color/photo iPod.
I love it. I don't have any pics on though lol. The color screen really is amazing. Apple is smart by making all their iPods color screens now.
