I saw two O'Possums on the way to work and was just overwhelmed by their cuteness. They don't get nearly enough love.

You know Taz, you're right. An opossum rejected repeated interview requests from the Philadelphia Gay News. I completely forgot about that.
Possums gross me out to the max! Vile little creatures. I passed one on the way to work a couple of months ago. When I lived in Houston, I would see them around my apartment, which was surrounded by a little forest (in addition to armadillos and raccoons). They would hiss and squeal and make a sickening sound while bearing their teeth and mangy fur. Giant rats is what they are. ICK!

It’s like waking up with one arm missing.
That cute boy vanishes while you’re kissing.
There’s a gap a void a missing part
An emptiness that breaks my heart
That thread is gone.
It was there when I went to read my mail
But when I came back it had turned tail.
Vanished, fulfilling my deepest fears-
Where does it go when it disappears?
That Thread is gone.
It might have been deer or homos or porn
Whatever it was, the veil was torn.
Bad jokes, wit and innuendo all tossed
And another legendary thread is lost.
That thread is gone.

What is it about that role?
Will sales of underwear now plummet, just as Clark Gable (legendarily) made the sales of undershirts plummet?

Possums were my favorite animal in 6th grade. I was an odd kid.

I am so happy my adorable Opossums were not obliterated in the great thread purge of 2008. Here's a cute lil opossum saying "good Mornin'!" to y'all!
Wild Possum Kabob
Ingredients:
1 Still breathing, corn-fed Possum
3 Ripe but firm tomatoes
1 Large white or yellow onion
1/2 pound large mushrooms
2 large green peppers
1 package meat marinade
1/2 cup soy sauce
12 skewers (sticks are okay in Arkansas)
The possum must be alive so that you can scare it, giving you the "wild" taste from all the adrenaline it produces. It is best to hit it over the head with a large object in a humane manner. Boil the possum for 3 minutes to loosen the fur then skin and gut it.
De-limb (chop the little knubby legs off) the possum and cut the meat into 1/2 inch square chunks.
Marinate overnight in a mixture of meat marinade and soy sauce. Kentucky residents who have no fridge can use an ice chest and may use radiator coolant instead of soy sauce.
Thread the meat and veggies onto your skewer/stick in alternating sequences to distribute the delicious flavor evenly.
Cook over a barbecue, pit, 50 gallon drum or any other fire till you get the desired result. For added flavor, you can cook it over burning tires.

Corn-fed is important. You need to pen your possum and feed him corn for at least a week to get rid of that "Free Range" taste. I've only ever had "Baled Possum & Sweet Taters" so this recipe looks to be a nice change.
I read your post quickly Matt, and I thought you said you "pissed on one once".
kinky.

I believe this cookbook has several tasty possum recipes, straight from Granny's kitchen.
'Possum and Sweet 'Taters
1 opossum
Salt
1 quarter water
4 slices of bacon
Bread Stuffing (page 43)
8 small sweet potatoes
Scald possum in lye water and scrape off the hair, taking care not to break the skin. Dress whole, leaving on head and tail. Rub inside and out with salt; let stand in cool place overnight. Place breast-up in roaster, add 1 quart water, place 3 or 4 slices of bacon across breast, cover closely and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F.) 45 minutes. Fill with Bread Stuffing (page 43) moistened with juice from roaster, surround with sweet potatoes and bake uncovered until very tender and well browned, about 1 hour. Allow 1/3 pound per person.
