The lead in a Broadway show is not doing his own singing because his voice is messed up -- am I supposed to think this is some sort of a scandal? Didn't someone off-stage hit high notes for Barbara Harris in THE APPLE TREE all those years ago?
I guess it's more cautionary than anything -- 8 shows a week takes training and technique so don't skip out on your lessons.
