I've been running it for a few months here (started with the betas) and loving all the new iCloud stuff as well as being able to Airplay from laptop to Apple TV.

I do that with the Ipad and the Apple TV. It is pretty neat. Oh well. I just clicked to buy it.

I upgraded late last night. So far nothing to complain about, just a few new things to get used to. The ability to airplay to the Apple TV is nice, I might even drop Hulu Plus and go back to the free service because of that, as I don't need to go through my blu ray player to have Hulu on my tv now.

I think I am going to hold off on buying for awhile... It doesn't look like it really has anything I need. The ability to use iMessage on my MacBook would be nice, but that's about it. Thanks Adison D. for the video review! It was helpful.

Working great. But how do I get the airplay or mirroring going from the computer to the apple tv? I know how to do it with Itunes.. but looking to use hulu and XM.

If your Mac supports it. Only certain newer models do. On an older machine here, I use http://airparrot.com which works well.

Found it:
Requires a second-generation Apple TV or later. Supports the following Mac models:

iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

If you don't have one of those, AirParrot works on all Macs though because... something to do with a software way of doing it instead of a hardware way I think.

Yup . Mine is a early 2008. Parrot seems to be working well. Using the trial period right now. Kind of sucks I have to pay for yet another thing. I wonder what other features don't work with my computer?

Yeah neither of those is something I would have notice. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Finishing my air parrot purchase now. Trial period is over. It is amazing that my Imac is still new to me. But I guess since it is from 2008 I am going to keep running into incompatibility issues with the new stuff.

You know I bought and I realized that it wont let me stream to the apple tv and listen to the computer at the same time.

You know.. how with itunes I can listen to it thru the computer, stereo and airport speakers all at the same time

Why would you want to listen to two things at once?

You can choose whether or not to stream audio to the Apple TV though.

No. No. Not listen to two things at once. I wanted to be able to play the same music thru the house. My living room has the apple tv connected to the receiver. My computer is in my office connected to speakers. I wanted the same music to be playing from both. ( music that I listen to from my XM subscription from my desktop)

Ah. There are apps I think that will let you stream from iPad to Mac... I'm not sure if you can stream from iPad to Mac and to Apple TV at the same time.

You might be able to stream from iPad to Mac with something like http://www.reflectionapp.com and then go from Mac to the Apple TV though that's a little roundabout.

I haven't bought a tech gadget without consulting CNET in years. Some of the individual editors are Apple Drones, but mostly the site's editorial voice is really smart and seemingly unbiased. And the readership base is large enough so that the user reviews are usually very smart and helpful.

It seems to me that the main reason for me to adopt a mountain lion would be the tools that optimize the cloud interface, and I just don't spend that much time in the cloud. I only recently got Snow Leopard; I'm going to pass for now.

I guess not. I can play Itunes on the computer and apple tv at the same time. But I was trying to accomplish the same with XM. I can do XM from the ipad to the apple tv. But then it is not in sync with what is coming out of the computer in the back. It would have been nice to be able to have the same music playing thru the house.
