I have about 100 assorted playbills, and I would like to make a wall display of playbills. Does anyone have any ideas or pictures that would help illustrate ways to do this?
Well, you could get frames from playbill.com, however they are quite expensive. but i do know people have gotten cheaper frames that work just as well.
Hmmm... if anyone can give me a link to some good cheap frames for playbills, or actually, you think it'd be possible to make one HUGE frame with lots of playbills underneath? Would want it to keep the playbills in good condition and keep them in place. (since dunno if they would slide around in one huge frame.
Oh man, it'd be awesome to get one gigantic frame and just put them all over it... whether neatly or collage-style.
I wanna do that!!
If you check my fan photos, you could see my wall. I didn't use the frames, but I still like the way I did it.
try CLIP frames from IKEA. package of 4/$4.
Those are $4 for 4 at IKEA *expletive* I have been paying $4 each at Bed Bath and Beyond for them.
They are a great frame though.
I think if you tape them together on the backs, you could use them as Wallpaper, that is a fun look. (I could not ruin mine that way, I can't even cut pictures.)

cturtle stole his idea from me. Just for the record. a$$hole.
I do mine in box frames. About $3 from most craft stores. Mine are from Michaels.
Cturtle, do those work keeping the playbill fully intact?
They do Patronus, no destruction at all.
Fantastic! I can't tell from his picture. Is there also a black frame around that or is it just the clips?
I just got back in from looking for frames to hold my autographed Falsettos, OBC of Chicago with Chita, Gwen and Jerry and newly acquired Carrie The Musical playbill.
It's off to Ikea this evening for me.
No frame, it is just clear plastic with the clips.
I want those playbills, blah. I just have everything we have seen hanging.
Well luckily I always take 2 playbills....
You see, I always wanted to hang em in some way, so get one playbill I don't really touch. Then there is the other for when I want to look through it.
So, see, it's a good idea :) Now I can hang up my playbills, then have another set to when I look through em.
lol, I'm a loser.
Oh well!
I am a bigger loser, I save several copies of each. I have them filed away and soon will have them chronologically organized and numbered. So I can pull DRS Feb 23, 2005 if I would like.
Did I mention my OBC Cabaret playbill as well as my 1987 Cabaret Revival playbill?
I am thinking it might be kind of cool to do something with the original, the 87 revial and the 98 revival.
You and your connections, why oh why did I stay in Georgia for college.
Well, lets not get too self loathing. You are living in NYC, happily married seeing a ton of theatre. Doing my dream job (I would love to be a teacher, but wouldn't love the schooling)
I am a living in LA (which I don't love), happily married and working a job that I don't have any passion for in order to be a stay at home daddy in a few years. In terms of the theatre, I only have a few playbills. Yes, I'll be seeing Drowsy Chaperone first...but you'll get it too.
The grass is always greenier... :)
That being said, I don't regret leaving Georgia one bit.

I have no real complaints, I honestly would not trade.
In order to reverse this thread jack...
I wonder if I can restrain myself from coming out of Ikea with $100 worth of clip frames?
For me it was a question of getting the things on the subway, since you have no such problem, it will be quite a challenge.
Yep, I have a good old fashioned gas guzzling SUV. No such concerns here.
Other than having to drive up to Burbank which really sucks since the Virgin Megastore isn't there anymore. There isn't anything that interests me other than Ikea and it's full of the UWM. (Unwashed Masses).
what college SP78? i went to ga state, uga, and ga southern.

I have 350 Playbills and other assorted programs arranged as I've seen them in a file. From "Cuba and His Teddy Bear' to "Naked Girl On the Appian Way' with no idea what to do with them.
Just got back from Ikea.
They were out of the individual frames, but I got longer frames that are capable of holding 4 playbills and they were $3.99 each.
I am in the process of getting stuff and hanging them up. I'll probably post pictures because it's Saturday night and we are lame.
I went to UGA, cturtle. I had no idea that you did as well.
That sounds really cool P. Nice purchasing there.
I was thinking about posting the pictures I have of my walls. We can all post our great pics in this thread.
