Also, how can it be "only in America" when scads of other countries have more "special rights" for gay people than we do here?

For the record - and not to feed the troll but just to correct misinformation that someone gullible might take as fact - it is NOT a simple as saying you are in a "homosexual relationship" to get domestic partner benefits. In most cases, you have to prove you've been sharing the same residence for at least a year, as well as other various hoops that that heteros just have to wave a marriage license to bypass.

True, Phyllis, and it's a misconception shared not only by pointless anonymous agitators but also by folks like this blogger, who seem think that this will lead to a bunch of homeless people committing fraud to get health benefits...or something like that. I can't quite follow the "reasoning," but they seem to think Gummy Joe is suddenly going to pretend he's shacking up with Drifter Dan to defraud the government of millions in health care costs.
