Obama to give commencement address as ASU, but will NOT receive honorary degree

President Obama accepted an invitation to give the commencement address at Arizona State University, but it seems like ASU uses separate committees to invite speakers and determine honorary degree recipients. The latter has determine that Obama is not worthy. Looking at the list of their prior honorees (see link), it's a difficult decision to justify.

He has actual degrees from Columbia and Harvard, so I doubt that he's too shaken up about it.

Yeah, on every senior's wish list: Harvard, Columbia, Yale, MIT ... Arizona State University.

i think it's a very nuanced compromise. everybody gets what they want: the school gets some jug-eared ron burgandy wannabee for a telepromptered speech and the sane people of the world get dig in at jug-ears. everybody wins. what's the problem?
