OH MY GOD.
Okay, I planned on introducing this post with a joke mentioning how much I'd like to meet Gerard Butler, we should all want to, there'll be times, etc. b/c of what was briefly mentioned yesterday and what I said, but after reading these posts today...forget it. This is....weird.
So yeah...another fun day in the city. Hung with my friend who's leaving and we said bye.

He was supposed to see Forbidden Broadway with me tonight but he had to do a portfolio or something, the bum, so I was on my own. Lost both Wicked and Q lottos, ended up at I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change which I liked a lot but this is not at all the point...
On my way from Wicked lotto to Q lotto(well there was a jamba juice break, again I digress) I decide to walk down 46th street to purposely pass the DRS stage door. The only reason in particular I was thinking of that was if some miracle I could catch Joanna. So I pass the stage door, don't see much, walk a few steps...and...who was on his cell phone right in front of the theatre but...ANDREW ASNES!
Yeah now you know why this is....weird. So I was like OMG! But like I said he was on a phone so I certainly wasn't going to interrupt his phone call, so I just hoped he would hang up before he went in. He was on a good 10 minutes I think, eating, came over to the garbage I was standing near to throw food out(I didn't wanna seem like a stage door whore who wanted to see stars walk in, I don't think I qualify if I'm waiting to talk to an ensemble member).
Anyway, he gets off and begins to walk in so I just kinda was like Andrew! and he turns around and I was like..I owe you an apology, I gave Greg the pencil that was used in your murder the other day...he laughed pretty hard, I was proud to make them both laugh with that comment(I e-mailed Greg asking him if I should contact a lawyer for providing the murder weapon).
And great story...he told me it actually all started(him being in Greg's dressing room) was when his...foot/ankle(?-don't quite remember) was injured and Greg's room is on the first floor and the ensemble's was all the way up so he went to Greg's room during the intermission to spare him the walking--and that's where/why the madness started. Funny how things like that work out.
Don't think much else was said...I really gotta start paying more attention and remembering things like this better...I know I thanked him for being so entertaining...and mentioned managing the softball team...and you know he asked my name and we shook...and then I think he had to go in. If I'm missing anything, don't think it's that important.
But I feel bad now! I was thinking of saying something on behalf of Gav or Jamie or some of you, b/c I knew there were things you would have wanted me to say, but I didn't know what! And I come back to read so many posts of I'd tell him this..I'm sorry!
Ohh, and then I passed Jeremy(swing/softball player) who said hi and I decided I'm either like kinda in with some of the DRS insiders, or a DRS whore...maybe insider is a better term..
Ooh another important part, again feels more ironic with all these great posts for him. There WAS a stage door whore there when I walked past, you know, someone waiting for them to go in. Anyway, as I was talking to Andrew, she randomly came up and interrupted and was like...Hi I'm sorry, I probably sound really stupid, but who are you in the show? And he kinda paused and said something like...oh, I'm just in the ensemble, sing and dance, and have a couple of lines. And she said well that's more than I could do and walked away. I dunno it kind of pissed me off, at the very least if you don't know who someone is, I would come up and be like you're great in the show and then whisper who was that? Then at least you don't make them feel...I dunno.
The bigger point is the way he responded...just in the ensemble, sounded like I'm nobody important, etc. I wanted to hug him, I felt really bad. Again ironic, with all the love he's getting here, but it really made me think about ensemble members. I think I was right when I said they walk quickly b/c they don't expect to get recognized. They really do deserve as much credit as anyone and to the best that I can I'm gonna do a lot more to recognize ensemble members. The only problem is it is hard to recognize them...I could ask everyone who comes out that I don't recognize if they were in the ensemble...might get weird...I dunno, but it makes me sad if that's how they view themselves, you know? I dunno just made me think.
So yeah again with all the posts today...it was just...wow. Like I said, if I was looking for anyone it was Joanna, didn't even think of him. He's really nice though, as I'm sure we'd expect.
And to keep this more ontopic...I passed the stage door after the show, it was on the way to my car, saw what was going on...when Greg came out he saw someone who he was really happy to see and hugged her but then started signing, posing, etc. Went fast for him but still did everything and when he was done even loudly said did anyone else want anything signed before he went to talk to his friend, when you're in a rush, I dunno, he's so sweet.
Meh...I really think I am becoming a DRS whore...it was on TKTS for 50% and I had to fight myself to follow through and see I love you for the first time and not DRS for the 7th time...oy.
Now if everyone wants to start talking about how great Gerard Butler his and how we all want to meet him, etc, who knows, maybe I'll catch him too

One can only dream...
