Coincidentally, haven't both Glenn and JLY been in adaptations of Sarah Plain and Tall? Indeed they have! Glen in the TV movie and JLY in a stage musical adaptation of the book.
Is that a sign from the gods that they should do Sunset Blvd together?!
Actually, I've never seen a production of the musical either. But I've read so much about it at this site and other places, that I almost feel as though I have.
I have seen the movie numerous times and supposedly the plot of the stage musical is very faithful to the movie. So I'm guessing I'd love the musical, even if the music isn't the absolute best. The story is just so dark and seedy. I luuuuv that kinda stuff.
Also, it was Glen along with Harry Belafonte, who presented JLY with his Tony award. It's destined to happen I tell ya!
Okay. I'm being silly. Still, the producers of that film could do a whole lot worse than John.
He still sounds great though, and young too. I think he was playing very young in both Sarah and Summer of Swans. In SOS, he was playing a fourteen year-old. I guess there are some advantages for an actor who is sorta short, slight and sweet-faced.
