There are way too many official threads about everyone and everything. Who declares a thread official anyway? Can we please hold off on creating new ones, as there are currently 4 in the top 10 messages on the OT board?
Moderators- is there any way that you guys can be the only people to make "official" threads, otherwise you can delete them? It is getting annoying. Just tired of new ones appearing all the time. Especially that there are about 50 official Wicked threads.
Thanks, sorry for the rant.

Forgive me, but I'm at a loss as to why this would bother anybody.
"Official" in the sense of this or that thread about a performer or a show simply tells fans of that performer or show "this is the thread for fans to meet and post". As long as they're on the off-topic board and it's just people having fun, I don't see any reason to "rant" about them, for heaven's sake. Seems to me that they can actually be helpful in keeping certain topics to one thread instead of dozens about the same thing being spread about.
I agree. Everybody complains about how there are so many redundant posts, these "official" threads are just so that we can keep them all in one thread, and it's a common ground for fans to just chat about the person.
What the hell makes a thread 'Official' anyway?
Is a 'Norbert Leo Butz Love Thread' different from 'The Official Norbert Leo Butz Love Thread' or something?
Seems a little My dad can beat up your dad to me.
This leads back to the whole, no more redundant things. lol. A bit silly, I agree, but being the starter of a love thread, it just makes it easier.
I think worrying about the word Official is a bit on the needless semantics side, obviously these threads are not sanctioned by the pope (or even the actual star themselves in most cases.) The inclusion of the word official in the titles of fan threads has simply become a trend or tradition even of sorts on BWW. Personally, I believe the word official serves the purpose of warning (probably too harsh a word), but guiding other posters away from creating the many redundant threads as spoken of earlier...

...but are the "official" threads kosher? that's the real question here.
Only if they stay away from pork...
I didn't mean so much to rant about it- but it was hit right on- the "officialness" of a thread (as opposed to a love thread or even just a name without an official before it) was irking me. If it actually worked (how many official wicked threads have there been?), I would be ok, but the sheer number (which are now not at the top) was bothersome. I think I was just in a bad mood because I didn't feel like chatting about NLB, Greg, and whatever else was up there and those threads seemed to be consuming all of the chatting on the board (including posts not about the official topic at hand).
