Well, because like it or not he's a role model to a lot of people and it's disappointing, that's all. I can't help it, I just lost a lot of respect for him even though you're right in saying that it doesn't really effect my life in any way.

"People" need to look at better role models. There are plenty out there. Actors act - that's their public life. Their private lives are their own and they are not obligated to live them for the benefit of people who can't choose role models of actual merit. Being an actor in and of itself does not make you a role model.

Rath - I totally agree with you. People SHOULD look to others as role models. My point was simply that a lot don't. And yes they are actors and that SHOULD be their only job but unfortunately we both know that more comes with the territory.

Anyone in the public eye is open to being someone's idol even if they don't want to be. It's not about it being a choice, its just how it is.

Some actors are just fine role models. Those are the ones to be looked up to. It's very simple. This is Law's second public "indiscretion." He's no role model. I sure wouldn't want my husband looking up to him.

What about the Nanny? Does she not share in any of the recriminations?? It takes two afterall..it's not like she didn't know the he was engaged. I suppose she was a hapless victim of the over powering sex appeal of Mr. Law.

Popular, do you live in the UK. I simply cannot imagine anyone in the US thinking that Jude Law is a role model. I wouldn't even call him a major star. He makes lots of films, but he never quite becomes a star. I think most people wouldn't even know who he is. I understand if he is someone you like that you'd be disappointed in his behaviour, though.

I live in Los Angeles so perhaps I'm surrounded by people who are affected by "Hollywood". People definitely know who he is and I'd go as far as to say that he's a box office ticket selling name.
As far as the nanny goes - OF COURSE she's to blame as well. My point is only that because he's famous and some people may look up to him, it makes the situation worse.
I admit that I think he's hotter than hot which is why this is especially disappointing.
