Keith Olbermann’s Special Comment: You ceased to be the President of the United States

Blind to history?
Now that's the pot calling the kettle black.

Posted: 7/3/07 at 11:16pmYes, I wonder if Olbermann applied the same standard to Clinton's 450+ pardons?
#5re: Olberman's Special Comment on Bush (& An)
Posted: 7/3/07 at 11:17pmIf Bush HAD given 450 pardons this would not have looked so bad.

The liberals and their cronies in the media would have made it look bad no matter what.
When did Olberman ever say anything kind about Bush?
Olberman also said that the majority of voters did not vote for Bush? Is that how he establishes credibility?

The majority of voters did not vote for Bush.

"Bill Clinton granted 395 pardons during his presidency, comparable in number to other recent presidents."
And again, nice to know that Bill Clinton is now the baseline of how all behavior is judged.

Olberman had a presidential historian on who said that Clinton HAD completely ruined his legacy by his last minute pardons. If Georgie-boy has a couple more years of this level of mess-ups and he's not even gonna be a footnote.
And, for all the press Laura "Pickles" Bush does about W's "great body", he sure looked like a bow-legged 98 pound weakling next to Putin with those bulging pecs and those pert nipples and that judo master ass of his. W was even upstaged by a short Russian guy while asking his father to help straighten up the mess he made.

There was an election in 2004. Bush received more votes than any President in history.
Olberman has ZERO credibility.

You are as thick as two big macs.
He had to get elected in 2000 to be reelected in 2004.

So.........
Olberman said he didn't get a majority of the vote. It was Olberman's slanted statement. Olberman did not specify.
The fact is, Bush got a majority of the vote in 2004.

Not at all. I simply read your link, perused it for Olberman's usual tin foil comments, and started to untangle them.
Our teachers said that this was called critical thinking. We simply don't sip blood from the fountain Olberman since he has demonstrated his moonbat credentials on so many occasions.

Actually, the quote is as follows:
"In that moment, Mr. Bush, you broke that fundamental compact between yourself and the majority of this nation’s citizens — the ones who did not cast votes for you."
Bush got 51% of the popular vote, but he did not get 51% of registered voters or "citizens."
So, you are misstating what he said.

I could be wrong.. but isn't it possible that Bush got the most votes ever because population has gone up?
I mean.. isn't this the discussion about broadway grosses and how people chuckle at press releases that say a show has grossed the most ever (for that show or theater). I mean.. as ticket prices increase, of course grosses are going to be better.

Vladimir Putin has pert nipples? Really? Link, please.
I sat at a table nearby to his at Ruth's Chris Steak House in Washington once.
I swear he kept cruising me. And each time he did, I got hard.

#19re: Olberman's Special Comment on Bush
Posted: 7/3/07 at 11:50pmYes, the most people voted.
#20re: Olberman's Special Comment on Bush
Posted: 7/3/07 at 11:52pmRight. Because the voting population increased. So that statistic isn't much to rave about. I believe bragging rights would be more acceptable if you went by percentages rather than number of votes. Again - for the same theater gross analogy.

A Quote from Olberman:
"In that moment, Mr. Bush, you broke that fundamental compact between yourself and the majority of this nation’s citizens — the ones who did not cast votes for you."
At best this statement is misleading, and at worst it is simply a lie.

"At best this statement is misleading, and at worst it is simply a lie."
The same could be said for the President and Vice Presidents statements leading up to the War in Iraq. But you still, somehow find them credible.

The majority did not vote for him.
That is the truth.
He received a majority of the popular vote.
That is the truth.
