If there is a will...there is a way.
If you think the door is closed...look for the window.
Don't try to figure out when you can afford children because if that is your reasoning...no one would ever have them.
This is a unique and personal 'shopping' experience for each. It was for me and thankfully I figured it out. Truth be told I posted an ad on Craigslist explaining exactly what I wanted, expected and was willing to 'do' (mind out of the gutter) I am talking about everything from "you need to be a U.S. Citizen" to my top ten list of things I wanted or was willing to negotiate.
For me...I wanted to meet a lesbian or lesbian couple to have a child with. I was contacted by a single heterosexual woman who was approaching 40 with no marriage prospect in sight. The rest is history so to speak and we are happily raising our 3 1/2 year old little girl. Trust me...you will learn how to brush long hair and make pony tails. They don't come with rule books - you learn as you go.
When you feel all is failing...step back, give it a rest and in a few weeks, reanalyze what your previous approach was and rework it.
I was attending a coparenting group at the GLBT Center here in NYC once a month and found that the same people were attending and complaining that things weren't happening for them. When I asked what they were doing beyond attending a 60 minute monthly meeting most said this was it. Well...if 60 minutes a month is the effort you are willing to exert - you won't succeed. You reap what you sow...so...if you really want a child and you feel like you are out of luck without a womb - think outside the box (sorry for the poor pun but it works).
Start by physically writing down exactly what you want as if you were going to the store to buy the most expensive house or car or whatever. Then figure it out from there.
You can do it!
You won't be sorry.
