I'm fleeing Houston for 4 glorious nights starting October 28th. Show tickets are in hand, but I'm looking for suggestions for things, not typically tourist, for this middle aged Mary to do during the day.
Interesting places to eat, especially for breakfast, favorite gay clubs, museums, etc.
Can't wait to hear your suggestions.

I like Marquet for brunch which is on 11th and University (I think). It's around there somewhere. They have a great brunch.
I also like the film center cafe's unlimited mimosa brunch. On Sundays from 11-5 they do unlimited mimosas and brunch for 11 dollars. It's amazing.
In terms of a gay club, I like Splash a lot...especially for musical mondays. I go to college night on Thursdays which is a lot of fun. There aren't many girls, but I go with my guy friends.
I also like piano bars a lot...Marie's Crisis and Rose's Turn are fun. Be sure to have your ID with you for Marie's...they're carding hard now no matter what age you look.

You might want to visit the Museum of the City of New York. They have an interesting theater collection.
