re: What sparked your interest in musicals or movie musicals etc.? Oct 20 2005, 07:57:55 AM
I always had the inkling I enjoyed that kind of thing if it was on TV or whatever but no real passion for it. Recently I was asked to join the cast of a communtiy theatre project as they were short of dancers and now I cant get enough.

"I keep thinking about the audience" It is this argument that sways me your way, I do have to admit that if I were in an audience for a performance that was disrupted and had paid all that money I perhaps would not be so easy going, I just believe that this was done in good fun and the perpeptartors must have known what type of performer Eden was and and knew that it would not occur. I just hope I am not giving credit were it is not due

I disagree with how easy it is to make the distinction, in this case both sides of the discussion have come up with valid arguments for their case, and I have to admit both have swayed me so it really cant be that easy to those of us that dont see it as *that* important, I think perhaps this, combined with personal experience is why I cant bring myself to believe that thre was any real cause for concern Edit: I really must check for typos before posting

Are things really that black and white in some thing as un-important as this? Culture is what makes us and with culture many things will become morally relative.

re: Wicked Mooning! Sep 23 2005, 08:36:37 AM
"Yeah, but if your music was interfering with someone's ability to work, would you play it anyway? Professionalism isn't all about dress codes." This was just an example to try to illustrate my point that we dont know what was acceptable on this particular performance, people in differet situations, no matter how similar cant call some one else un-professional just becasue it is not the done thing were they are. Only the people involved in the actual situations know what the limits of

Toby2 and NYCMonk My quesiton "Out of interest....what purpose?" Was not a negative, I just wanted to know, just interested in someone else interpretation, as I have said everything I hve seen so far as either been in the traditional style or not very imaginative

re: Wicked Mooning! Sep 23 2005, 04:12:45 AM
I could be interpreting it wrong but this discussion seems at least in part to be about what is considered professional, is this not down to the circumstance and situation of the job? For example, every morning my house mates gets dressed for work and wears a suit and tie and works in a very quite office, I on the other hand I am sat at my desk wearing jeans and a hoodie and listening to bww raido at full blast, does this make me any less professional? no, becasue in my place of work this is t

re: Wicked Mooning! Sep 22 2005, 10:33:25 AM
Is it not more down to the people involved and if they think there was a lack of respect than what some of us think? I mean, if Eden didnt get het up then why are any of us? If no one in the audience was bothered and the cast didnt mind then this just makes for a nice 'and finnaly' story

re: Roles You've Always Wanted to Play... Sep 22 2005, 08:50:58 AM
Thanks for the info Wonderboy, I love this site, I learn something new every time I come on, but I have seen a production were the impression was given that she did it, I couldnt tell you if the words were changed now, it was a long time ago, but the direction was very much that she was guilty, maybe it is more the actress than the character I am admiring, she had an amazing sassiness about her I loved

oooh do tell Urban, about the most exciiting interpretation you get this side of the pond is the....lets dress them in modern clothing and set it on a basketball court or in a school yard so it will appeal to 'the kids'...mentality

re: re naked macbeth Sep 20 2005, 09:34:19 AM
"c) truly believe in the project. apparently the nudity is for a purpose, and not just a whim of the director." Out of interest....what purpose?
