One Role Wonders...

Ever stop to think about the actors/actresses who played only one role, then left acting all together?

examples would be

Maureen McGovern (Marcia, Brady Bunch)
Charmain Carr (Leisl, The Sound of Music)

Can you think of any others?

*clearing throat* Firstly, dear, it's Maureen McCormick, not McGovern. Secondly, she didn't leave acting altogether..she still tries to work.

maureen DID play Rizzo in Grease! on broadway.. she also played Wendy in Peter Pan when she was a teen and she did a brief stint as Rebecca Hotchkiss on Passions before the current actress in the role.

Yes, we all love to jump down Rodney's throat, don't we, but this is a good idea for a thread.

re: One Role Wonders...

Not only that, she was the mom on a really cute (awful, but cute) tv show about a teenager and his teenage guardian angle. the lead boy was adorable!

And Miss Charmian Carr actually starred in Playhouse 90's production of Evening Primrose. I believe (not having seen it) she introduced to the world the beautiful Sondheim songs 'I Remember' and 'Take Me to the World'.

I wish Charmain Carr would come back and do something. I don't care if she is like fifty-something now.

Rodney,

She is still ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! And is a friend and decorator for Michael Jackason. Read that in her autobiography.

I did not mean to imply that I did not think she was still gorgeous.

I saw a recent picture of her and she still has those piercing blue eyes.

Peter Ostrum was offered a five picture contract after Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), but turned it down. Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) was his only film appearance. He is now a vet to large farm animals (cows and horses) in rural New York state.

I take back Susan Swift. I just checked IMDB and apparently she has worked a bit since Audrey Rose. Her last job was in 1995.
