For a senior project, I would like to put together a production of a one act play.
It needs to have a fairly small cast, and (obviously) be kind of short. Between 30 mins and an hour.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hm. I did one called "Babel Rap" for my senior project.
"This is a Test" is an AWESOME one act for highschool. So perfect.
I can't remember the playwrites for either of those at the moment.
Or write your own! That's always fun to do, and one-acts are nice and short as well.

I was sure I had posted this on the student board.
Please move?

"not enough Rope" is pretty fun to do. The playwrite escapes my mind at the moment.
"Hard Cany" and "Check please" by Jonathan Rand are also good.
"the legend of Sleepy hollow" can be shortened and used as a narration only, having actors act it out. I did this last year and the audience really enjoyed it. I used three huge sheets and used both sides in front as people and in back as shadows for towns people ect. It was really fun.
I'll think of some more for you.

Yes, it certainly is! I just did a production of it at my own school. If you think you're interested in doing it and have any questions, let me know, Moonie!

Thanks for all of your suggestions, everyone.
Right now, I'm looking into "Thirst" by Eugene O'Neill. Is anyone familiar?

Intermission byyyy um...hold on...
Daniel Meltzer!
It's a great script once you analyze it and perform it.
SO funny...you just have to make the conversation between the young woman and the writer exciting.
A senior at my school just directed "An Overpraised Season" by Richard S. Dunlop. Really small cast, just 6 people.
And the best part is that The Director is a character that narrates the story :)
Thanks for your advice guys, it's useful stuff for ME to keep in mind too, as I will also be doing a similar project in about two years.
When I took directing I did "Suppressed Desires" by Susan Glaspell. 2f, 1m. It ran about 27 minutes.

I am partial to "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward.
