Don't worry, Miss P. If she ends up going back North, we can still play with our Sarah toys!

Arrogance like this a month before the election is exactly why Democrats have lost the last two Presidential elections. Both 2004 and 2000 should have been slam-dunks, and they weren't.

The last thing they can afford to do right now is sit back and coast.

(And yeah, Palin isn't going away, if they lose. I could see her running for, and winning, a Senatorial race in Alaska.)

Is there a Sarah Palin bobblehead yet?

My dad wants one.

Please, don't give me nightmares. I'm just starting the day.

One thing that people keep saying and putting false hope in is the college students.

Absentee voting is tough, and a lot of colleges do not do anything to help inform students how to do so. Obama is big with this group, and this is the group that typically does not go to the polls and vote.

That said, should Obama win and Texas decides to leave the union, anyone want to house me while I get on my feet?

It ain't over til it's over...

I think this election is going to be uncomfortably close.

A handful of battleground states are likely to determine the November 4 U.S. presidential election and it's possible that Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama could split them in a manner that leaves each just short of victory.

If that happens, the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives would pick the president but it's unclear whether Democrats would have enough votes to send Obama to the White House.

The House last decided an election in 1824. But the legal skirmishing and partisan rancor would probably resemble a more recent election -- the 2000 vote in which Republican George W. Bush narrowly defeated Democrat Al Gore after a disputed Florida vote count and legal battle.

"This would be the seamy side of democracy, the lobbying and the money would be so intense," said American University history professor Allan Lichtman.

The fact that it isn't a landslide against the Republicans makes it uncomfortable. What is the mentality of so many people in America?!

...and the Republicans feel the same way about the Democrats.

We are such a divided country. The next President is going to have to work very hard at putting AMERICANS first, and trying to heal the wounds of partisan politics.

Shoring up the economy would help a lot NYadgal.

Bush may try to stage a coup, like killing Osama bin Laden just before the election - if he can.

What can we do? I'm sending money every week to the Defenders of Wildlife to keep that Palin - Wolf Hunting ad running. There are other good TV ads that are running, too. Check out their success rate and donate to one of then. I think at this stage this would be more effective than contributing to the campaign.
