Robbie Rogers, who came out of the closet last year, is on the bench for the LA Galaxy for their match tonight. If he gets in the game, this would be his first appearance in a game since publicly asknowledging his sexuality. The game is beginning right now on ESPN2.

Congrats to him!

I'm curious to know how big this is for American sports, since soccer isn't as popular in the US as it is in the rest of the world.

If this happened here in Brazil, it would be a HUGE deal.

By the way, he did get into the game, entering as a substitute in the 2nd half.
