Posted: 8/3/06 at 6:13pmWhat about giving the cat a name which is a symbol, with no actual sound, then you would have to say 'Come here, Ovular shape with interior angle perpendicular to the axis represented by the line on the page' or something like that.

Ooo I love naming cats! I have 11 cats. Yeah, sort of on the edge of being a creepy cat lady, except I'm 15, and it's sort of my parents fault. But we live on some land so it's not like theyre everywhere around my house.
Hm, I have a tabby named Aster (as in the flower of September. We found 3 kittens and named them all something that had to do with the month we found them in). But I think the name Ginger is adorable.
If you're going for an Irish name, if only it were a boy you could name it Patrick. We actually named one of our cats Patrick but then when we took it to the vet a few months later we found out it was a boy... yeah I don't really know how we missed that.
Wow so basically I haven't helped with the name thing at all... hm, I think Ginger or Bailey are adorable though.

If I ever have more than five cats, they'll all be named after a movie/play/etc.
Example: I'd name them all from Gilligan's Isle.

Posted: 8/3/06 at 6:38pmMy aunt had eleven cats through the years, but never more than two at one one time. Most died of natural causes, one was run over and one ran away and was never seen again. Sad.

Posted: 8/3/06 at 7:21pmWe have a ragdoll cat named Penny Lane. I don't think I've ever called her that though. It's always just "kitty".

there is something creepy about giving a cat a human name.....
I mean would you want to be named Fido, Sweetpea, or Fuzzy?

My cat's name was Murray Moskowitz. Anyone who knows where I got that name gets a gold star.
Don't call her Molly unless you want her to have the same name as every third dog in these here United States of A.

Although I've never done it, I've always been fond of the idea of naming your pet after a celebrity, and using their full name at all times. i.e. - "Work was sheer torture today, and when I finally got home I found that Patti LuPone had pooped on the rug."

First off, ww that would be pretty awesome. "Well today Tom Cruise started going crazy again. I think we're going to have to put him down."
Anyhow, if I ever got four cats I would name them maggie, millie, molly and may. And not capitalize it on their name tags. Yeah.
And my cat's name is Tac. Which is cat backwards if you didn't catch that!

Ha, I know why Emcee.
I think it's a good idea to spend a little time with the cat before deciding on a name. While Molly is a lovely name, she might turn out to be not a Molly at all.

Posted: 8/3/06 at 10:33pmWell, I mean, I know why I like the name, heh. But why I would actually, literally name a cat that if I could have one, is beyond me. It's sooo not a cat name!

Posted: 8/3/06 at 10:47pmYou'll just have to find a cat who's an Eduardo. I'm sure there's one out there.
