Oprah Winfrey Makes Me Sick

The talk show host and an entourage tried to enter a Hermes boutique on Paris' posh Rue du Faubourg St. Honore at 6:45 p.m. on June 14, Hermes said in a statement. The store closes at 6:30 p.m.

"People were in the store and they were shopping. Oprah was at the door and she was not allowed into the store," Gayle King, a friend of Winfrey's who witnessed the incident, told "Entertainment Tonight." "Oprah describes it herself as `one of the most humiliating moments of her life."'

King said it's unlikely that Winfrey will shop there again.

Oh boo hoo hoo Oprah! I can't imagine the SHAME of being turned away froma CLOSED store! I'd never shop there again either!

She's also playing the race card heavily, relating it to the movie "Crash", and devoting a whole hour to the situation in the Fall.

This has happened to her before. Remember the story about trying to get into an exclusive store in NYC (or was it Chicago?) and they wouldn't buzz her in?


Oprah, dear, you just shop too much. That's what personal assistants are for.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I remember that Gotham. But this Hermes thing is out of control. Apparently she's not pleased at the weak apology they issued. Even though she doesn't actually deserve one.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Oprah has made me sick for years. I can not abide that phony act of hers. If she is indeed 'playing the race card', she needs to get over it. It's time somebody trumped that card anyway.

Did King say anything that supports the Post's version? -
Per the Post:

"Winfrey, 51, tried to enter the chi-chi handbag boutique but was blocked by staff who mistook her for a troublemaking North African.

Hermes has been “having a problem with North Africans lately,” according to The New York Post, and “Oprah didn’t have her hair done,” rendering her unrecognizable."

She wasn't turned away because of any racism or mistaken identity: the store was closed. There was a private event going on inside. Frankly I'm suprised that Oprah's fame hasn't enabled her to walk through walls and fly, much less be admitted to parties she wasn't invited to.

Oprah has shopped "after hours" at that store many times, apparently, but this time she just decided to "stop by" after closing and was not taken care of.

She has problems if she is humiliated by being turned away by a snooty French person. Being snooty to Americans is France's national pastime.
