I just saw Happy Feet & was somewhat disappointed
It was too long to begin with. The novelty of dancing penguins wears off soon & the last 1/2 hour was tough going
Anyone else feel the same
Totally disagree.
Thought it was charming. I saw it opening night and said to my boyfriend "This will and should win the Oscar."
And it did. And should have.
To each his own
Glad you enjoyed it
AGREE.
a totally horendous film.
The part I really enjoyed was the part where they used real humans and not animated people or the CGI cr@p.
i loved it
i saw it twice in the theaters. i have never gone to the movies to see the same movie twice.
I completely agree with you Roxy, I hated every moment of that film.
Count me in as someone who absolutely loved the film. It definitely deserved it's Oscar win.

Yep. Loved it. Not bored for a minute. Was it perhaps the political message of the film you found 'rough going'?

Hated it with a passion.
And it wasn't the political message (though that was heavy handed and juxtaposed against horrible stereotypes). It was just a horrible movie.
I also with they'd gotten singers to do the voices. I mean, you don't need Brittany Murphy to open a movie about dancing penguins. It opens itself.
Brittany Murphy IS a singer.

I meant no disrespect Roxy-- I have friends who disliked the movie simply because of it's agenda. Wondered if that was the case.

No, Brittany Murphy sings.
Quite well.
it made me want to kill penguins even more than batman returns.
I wouldn't doubt if the message of the film is the reason that Roxy hates it. He has often expressed his complete disregard for animals on here before.

THANK GOD (AND ROXY) FOR THIS THREAD!
I nearly got shot down on the Oscar predictions thread for my views on this. It was rubbish film. Crap. I've seen better animation in flickbooks that came free with cereal boxes. The tapping was completely out of time with the penguins' feet moving. The story was pathetic. It was a biot too long, and yet they left gaping holes in the plot. They were in an aquarium, and suddenly he appeared back in Antarctica. And they threw the poor climate change message in at the end; 'TAP DANCING PENGUINS? THAT MAKES ME WANT TO REDUCE MY CARBON FOOTPRINT'. Of course, that's the first thing we all would think of if we saw a tap dancing frodo baggins penguin. As much as I love Robin Williams, it was an awful film. It tried to be a combination of MArch of the Penguins (Which I loved), the Lion King (which I loved) and even An Inconvienient Truth (which I loved).
CARS was a far superior film. Loved it. Call me biased, but it was so much better than HAPPY FEET it's just not funny. Lightning and Mater had every right to look pissed off when they didn't win the Oscar.
Cars was a piece of tripe and continued to support the false belief that the homophobe Larry the Cable Guy is talented/funny.
I enjoyed the film (then again, I saw it with my friend and her 7 year old daughter which makes a difference I think).. But personally - I found the first half to be adorable, cute, fun, etc. Somewhere in the middle I just felt it lost most of its steam. I wouldn't call it a bad movie. I would just say it suffered the fate that many movies to lately - great premise, great beginning, but no follow through
Farce of the Pengiuns, now THAT was a movie!

Maybe it was Morgan Freeman who kept me interested in March of the Penguins.
However, it must be said, Hollywood is doing wonders for the environment.
"Stop polluting, you're melting the ice caps, you're killing endangered penguins!"
"What the f*** should they care, they're too busy making f***ing movies!"
Munk
Are you smoking those funny cigarettes again? Where do you get that BS about me hating animals? Does everyone here who did not like it hate animals also?
Set the record straight. I did not hate it but it did not deserve the Oscar . I agree with Craigs assessment. Do not try & read things into someone elses thoughts
I love animals & have had pets all my life. My wife thinks I am crazy if I go over & pet a dog in the street even if on a leash. Never assume Munk as you are usually wrong - especially about me.
Don't let your hatred for me cloud your thought processes

Come on, peeps, let's keep it HAPPY here! Happy! Munk, as a fellow Monkey-related user, I feel it is my duty to say that, as an animal (or is it Animal...?) I do not feel threatened in any way by Mr. Roxy. He has only ever acted with the greatest courtesy towards me, as have you. Now, let's all get along like good mammals!
