A zoo in Boston is thinking of closing due to a shortage of state funds .

Not only that but they are also thinking about euthanizing some of the animals as well.

I just got back from vacation & had a prostate biopsy yesterady so I am a little bummed out. The latter had to do with a rise in my PSA but the doctor thought it was not serious.

In 2 weeks, I do a cysto & the beginning of August a roto rooter a/k/a colonoscopy. As you can see, I have a lot going on now

To those interested it is on cnn website. I will make a concerted effort to start putting links on. Someone previous sent me a PM with instructions so I will give it a look. I will break out the bubbly when I do it. I will try to have it done by labor day 2009.

It sounds like the threat of euthanizing animals is being done for media attention...a zoo closing doesn't get much press, but when the director says he's gonna euthanize the animals, now it's a story.

I wish we could just use euthanasia for people when they out live their usefulness or when we just don't have the funds to keep them alive anymore. This country would be a lot less crowded and happier, not to mention RICHER!

Aww, poor animals. PETA needs to drop the red paint and drop the cameras used by them to take useless naked pictures of woman, and they need to actually do something productive!

I have nothing against animal rights groups but I do think that what PETA does is borderline ecoterrorism. Hell, they recently bitched and moaned about how they should make Ben and Jerry's use human breast milk in their ice cream so that they wouldn't be allowed to touch the sacred cow's milk.

If a friend of mine wanted to join an animal rights group I would suggest a group that is not as bat**** crazy as PETA and suggest something like the ASPCA.

Yes, PETA brought a skinned corpse on the streets of New York once yelling about fur being murder or something. I walked right past, almost ready to laugh so hard. They're extremists.

PETA should not get involved in ANYTHING unless it involves the end of their group. They are disgusting in every conceivable way.

Does PETA have over 4 million dollars to help out? This actually involves TWO zoos. While I think it would be horrific if this happens, times are tough....and money isn't growing on trees. Sign of the times, sign of the times.

Mr. Roxy....while I am sorry for your predicament and wish you the best -- how is anyone here suppose to know? No one likes heresay and they ALWAYS ask for articles/proof. If you can take the time to post, how can it be that hard to post a link? It takes about 4 key strokes.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
