I was referring to animals as in animals who cannot speak for themselves. Clearly. Don't play stupid when you know very well what I'm referring to.
Humans are able to see what's going on, and speak for those who can't. As someone who refuses to accept the way animals are slaughtered, I will have absolutely nothing to do with it. People who eat meat without thinking about it - including most of my family and most of my friends - need a wake up call.

I represented a company that performed a service for another company. My client was not paid. The reason the company I represent stopped doing business with the other company (causing great financial hardship) because PETA threatened them with violence if they continued their association with them. They severed it & the original company refused to pay my client & they are now having to take them to court. All because my client capitulated to these terrorists instead of telling them to take a hike
Humans should die so animals can live. How many of these lowlifes wear leather or eat meat? They need to be shunned & ignored & when they committ a crime they need to have the book thrown @ them & the key to the jail thrown away
"How can anyone be deeply respectful of animals, yet murder them for their own good when it's not even necessary?"
Just wondering munkustrap, do you agree with the Native Americans killing animals for food? They only kill what they are going to eat, and have a ceremony honoring the life of the animal. Then they use every aspect of the animal in some way, down to the brains and the teeth, so as not to waste anything. It's part of their culture. I know the meat industry isn't like this, but I do feel that it is possible to kill animals, but still have respect for them.
That being said, I've been a vegetarian for 8 years (despite a really weird dream last night where I ate a steak). A case like this, where the actions of the individuals are obviously not supported by PETA, isn't going to change my opinions on that.

Wanting life but never
knowing how
I can't stand PETA either. They are unrealistic, most of them nuts (from papers Ive read, and interviews I've seen.) I don't think they live in the real world were people eat meat, have pets, etc.
I love animals, I could never go hunting, I get extremely angry when I see or hear about animal abuse, I would never wear fur (its beautiful but I couldnt). But I still eat meat, pork, chicken, and beef, wear leather. I love meat, yum yum. But that doesn't mean I want the animals to suffer on my part just so I can eat them. I am all for humane treatment of animals before they are killed. I've heard stories about some slaughter houses and it has made me sad. But I think it's EXTREMELY naive for PETA to think they can get people to stop eating meat or that people aren't even supposed to eat meat!! (That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.) (IF we stop eating meat what's going to happen to all the cattle in the world? They aren't wild animals and haven't been so in +- 10,000 years. I'm sure someone would love to have 1,000 head of cattle as pets.)
I know someone from PETA might say I am hypocritical for eating meat, and loving animals, being for humane treatment of animals, but I dont care. No one is perfect, no one can avoid being a hypocrite at some point or other.
(P.S. This show on cable called BS had a great segment on PETA and all ITS hypocrisy's.)
