Are we allowed to talk about what's going on?
Moderators, please do not ban me again just for asking a question. Thank you.
It's hard to process what's happening.
I'll start by saying something I would hope we all can agree on. Hamas are evil. Netanyahu is evil. Humanity should always come first. All lives are equal.
Hezbollah are evil.
Hamas are evil. Again let me say that.
I also think it is important to remember that they did not come from a vacuum. Blind support of Israel is not the way forward.
Help me understand.
Why does America not disavow the post-1967 Israeli borders? How can we hold Putin and Netanyahu to different standards? I'm almost afraid to even ask this in case it earns me my 167th ban, but I genuinely feel they are legitimate questions. Where is the consistency?
I truly hope that President Biden reiterates to Netanyahu that it is not okay to break international law. The Geneva Convention matters, and America is not the boss of everything. Palestinian lives matter.
A real friend to Israel would tell Netanyahu to stop this abhorrent recklessness. All it is doing is sewing seeds of further discontent, ruining the lives of Israeli citizens for generations to come. A real friend of Israel is a friend of the ordinary people, not of whatever government is in office at any given time. Most of Israel hates Netanyahu.
Mahmood Abbas has cancelled his meeting with Joe Biden. I don't blame him. It was just a PR move to suggest impartiality.
I started this thread a week before another user started a very similar one. However, being a mature adult, I have decided to retire this one and move the conversation over there. We do not need two. I will repeat my important points so they are not lost. Goodbye readers, see you on the other side.
Perhaps it is time to bring this thread out of retirement. The title of the other one gives events a legitimacy I feel they do not deserve.
