**** YOU, BobbyBubby!

Straight people care!

Especially the people who run this site.

I am SO SICK of comments like that.
**** YOU!

(Yeah. I know. Say whatever the hell you want. I no longer give a ****)

Edited to delete words which were written in anger.

Most Internet advertising is keyword-based. So if you have a discussion about Sarah Palin and Sarah Palin (or HarperCollins) bought keyword advertising, an ad will appear.

That's why you should install ad-blocker software.

BLAH BLAH BLAH. Heard it all before. It's my opinion and I'm not going to be made to feel "out of line" for having it.

Research who you're taking ads from. Period. I can guarantee you if gay men ran this site that it would have never happened to begin with. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Period.

I don't give a rat's ass what you think of the advertising - I take serious issue with your assertion that simply because they're straight they won't care.

They only care when it becomes a problem. And they only "care" because we complain until it becomes a nuisance.

Bobby- I will once again echo what everyone is saying. BWW uses an outside source for their ads, and the ads are generated by keyword "Which is why the last 4 years were filled with "George Bush Ringtone" ads. As soon as Rob or Craig are notified of an ad that ANYONE feels is bad that ad is removed. No matter who owns the site, if they choose to use an outside (keyword based) company there is a chance a similar result will happen. The important thing is that the people who run this site IMMEDIATELY remove the offensive ads (and I can guarantee you there are many website owners out there, gay and straight, who wouldn't care as long as they make money). The only reason those ads are appearing is because WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THAT TOPIC! If you send a PM to Rob the ad will go away, simple as that.

NEXT, I will echo Addy- As a straight man who is a major advocate of equality for all I will not sit quiet as you go on spouting your hate. You have a GREAT number of straight allies, and that number is growing daily. Trust me, I can understand being frustrated, we all are, but to claim that no straight people care about your struggles is ridiculous. I can understand the hurt you feel when you see an ad like that on this site, but if you tell Rob it will go away, it is only there because WE ARE TALKING ABOUT IT!

Finally, speaking for myself: I don't care because it is a nuisance, I care because I believe my friends should be given every right I have (and protection as a legitimate minority). I care because I know that love is the greatest thing in the world, and that NO ONE should be allowed to dictate who gets rights based on who they love. I care because I love my gay brothers and sisters and I will fight as hard as I can to have OUR voice heard. I am fighting every day FOR YOU, whether you want me to or not, whether you believe I am or not. DO NOT TELL ME I DO NOT CARE!

There were an awful lot of straight people who voted for gay marriage in both CA and ME. It was very close especially in ME.
You can't ghettoize yourself and expect to ever affect any real change.

The only one that such an attitude harms is yourself.

Having said that, I will also add that it is hard to think openly when it feels like people everywhere are hellbent on demoralizing you and taking your rights away.

So the rage you feel is understandable. But focus it on those who deserve it, and recognize that many people (and probably the vast majority of our straight friends on this site) are supportive of us and stand by us.

So today I was in a store that had backpacks and other gear with the words TEAM EDWARD and TEAM JACOB on them. I have no idea what that means but I did get that peculiarly naggy American feeling that I was expected to choose a team.

SO I CHOOSE TEAM NYADGAL.

You know what BobbyBubby? You're coming across like a total dirty buttmunch. Ratchet it down about six dozen notches or shut the hell up.

If any of you straight or not think straight people (especially those who run this site) for one second know what it's like to read a Prop 8 Ad on a site they thought they trusted you have another thing coming.

Oh boo frigging hoo. How will you EVER make it in this world? How will you survive the fear and dread that you might possibly encounter ideas you disagree with and people who don't like you? You are just the other side of the coin of the conservobots who home school and refuse to let their kids mingle with people of other ethnicities and skin tones and when somebody calls them on their crap they cry victim. You really better learn how to deal with contradictions and conflicts because right now you look like you're doing the exact same thing over something incredibly inconsequential.

So Broadwayworld's not safe for you? You poor widdle lamb. Go somewhere else. Please.

Your most accidentally true statement of the thread Bobby: Why should I care what my words say?

I am getting so afraid. I mean seriously, she wrote a book and now touring the reddest of all states. This is how power GROWS people. Obama gets close to $4-million a month on his book-sales alone. Imagine Palin with that amount of money... and how that could fund her campaign! JEEZUS

tsk tsk Eugene for trying to get us back on topic. I do agree though, this woman is so crazy she makes me laugh, but she is also very manipulative and that scares me.

I can guarantee you if gay men ran this site that it would have never happened to begin with.

Bobby, you are saying things that are wrong.

If you paid any attention to the issue, gay political sites like John Aravosis's AmericaBlog.com and liberal sites like DailyKos have histories of frustration with keyword advertising when being CRITICAL of political figures who are using Internet advertising.

But no, you want to weave a paranoid persecution delusion that the people who run BroadwayWorld don't care about your feelings because they're straight.

Grow up. Get over your issues with Mommy and Daddy and take a step into the REAL world.

Your silly ranting dishonors the REAL victims of gay bashing and antigay persecution--neither of which can be found here on BroadwayWorld.

Sheesh. You WERE out of line. Learn to say "I'm sorry. I got carried away."

And, no, Eug--Obama does NOT make $4 million dollars a month from book royalties.

I haven't seen this much Broadwayworld drama in some time. Thanks for the good read Bobby, NYAdgal, et. al.!

Palin does frighten me and in a very real way, Remember, George Bush got elected twice because the populace thought he was the kind of guy you could sit down and have a beer with. What will they do with a perky, winking ex beauty Queen in heels that they want to bang?

* I mean the straight ones of course.

Holy Christ! What happened while I was gone? Never mind Ann Coulter defending Palin, when you find Phyllis and I on the same side of an issue, that says quite a bit (sorry Phyllis, I'm sure you understand). I'm straight (well, there was that time in college, but never mind that) and I am a very serious advocate for gay rights. Always have been.

And seriously, who pays attention to the ads here? I barely notice them, much less give them a second look.
