Two young men were subjected to a sickening homophobic attack in Piccadilly Gardens after singing songs from the musical Wicked on a tram.
Jean Claude Manseau and Jake Heaton were reciting tunes from the hit musical on the Metrolink service from Bury to Manchester when a man started hurling anti-gay taunts at them.

The most frightening thing being the way the attacker mobilized others to join in.
(To be fair, I wouldn't have wanted to be subject to the singing, either. Your rights only go so far as they infringe upon mine.[Well, in this country] And I am not condoning the attack in any way.)

Posted: 11/5/14 at 10:43amI agree that singing on the train would have annoyed me as well, but what is really disturbing is that it wasn't a scuffle on the train. The attacker followed them off the train, then rallied a group to attack them. According to the article, they were about halfway to their destination when they were attacked.
