This is Tai Shan and his mama Mai Xiang. Together with dad Tian Tian they make up Washington DC's most popular residents. (This pic is for you, Kel!)
oh how precious!
AWWW! I am in love with all pandas... red pandas, giant pandas, they are all so cute!
So cute! But now I can't see pandas without thinking of the pandas in adult Spelling Bee. Oy
I love them! I wanted to see them during my last trip, but I heard it was a nuthouse.
And I can't see them without thinking of a conversation I had with my ex the other night.
You've never lived until you've seen pictures of pandas getting it on.
DD - It's STILL a nut house! I haven't even gotten to see him yet. I get my first visit on 2/16. (He'll probably be asleep behind a rock.)
My sister stood in line with my niece for about an hour, and when they got there they were hiding.
A friend of mine went Tuesday and they were outside, playing in the trees (like this pic). For some reason, nobody else was there. He got some incredible pics. That was his 3rd visit but the baby was asleep the first two times he went. There's just no guarantee.
That picture brought a huge smile on my face. Thanks for that one, hun.

aaww...that's so sweet
Watching the panda cam... he's up a tree!
Cuteness overload, I say.
How darling and the next best thing to Panda love is Panda Express love.
LOL - I do believe you're right!
Well, I'm off to see him now. Addy dear - you can have your breakfast at Tiffanys. I'll have mine with Tai Shan!
washingtonpost.com has a Tai Shan timeline video (it's the last one, right under the latest video) scroll halfway down the page.
Diabetics beware - It's a film of brain-exploding adorability. Where Tai Shan goes from one moment of jaw-dropping cuteness to another.
I so want one of my own.
Mamie, as always, you are my hero! I love Tai Shan. I have a wee bit of an addiction to the panda cam. I watch it almost the entire time I am at work. He is the cutest thing on the face of the planet.

Oh man, they are precious.
Did anyone see the documentray on Animal Planet (I'm pretty sure it was Animal Planet) that documented the whole thing, from the mama's pregnancy to the birth of the baby panda, and so on? It was fascinating.
I wonder if it will re-air.
it was so good, my TV-addict cat watched it too (parked her butt in front of the TV for the entire show!).
They sell that DVD on the National Zoo's website.
I just can't believe how tiny they are a birth!

Love Pandas and panda-cam! Thanks, Mamie! That bought such a smile to my face! Let us know if you see the little cutie when you go!
I must add that Mamie is an angel and a complete sweet heart!
The national zoo is literally a 5 minute walk away from me, yet I haven't been by to see little Tai Shan yet!
And I thought this thread was going to be Amanda's love thread..
But the pandas are super cute.
