Some of the wonderfully talented ladies and gentlemen of the past who celebrated their birthdays in November. They're gone - but their contributions to the entertainment world will make them live forever in our hearts and our memories:

Hedy Lamarr, Gene Tierney, Grace Kelly, Vivien Leigh...what ever happened to that classic, sophisticated glamour of the silver screen?
Nellie, you can say that again!
Mamie, it's exquisite, as always. Thank you for these shining stars!
Thank you for the best that BWW has to offer!
Xs and Os Mamie!
Beautiful, Mamie!
For some reason I didn't realize that Marie Dressler had died just at the very height of her stardom.
The year after Dinner At Eight, in fact.
She had been the #1 Box Office draw in the U.S. only a year before that.
Thank you all.
I look at these pictures and they make me think of something Norma Desmond said in 'Sunset Boulevard' -

Mamie - it's very true about the faces.
BUT, I just have to say that I could stare at Jon-Erik Hexum's for quite awhile

so many people i love this month!
i hope i can do something that matters before i kick the bucket!
& i wanted to post my favorite Geraldine Page photo!
love love love love love love love love love love
Geraldine Page is one of my favorite actresses! So good in everything I've seen her in. My favorite films of hers are: A Trip to Bountiful, Interiors and Whatever Happened to Aunt Alice. She's also provides the voice to the wonderfully wicked Madame Medusa in The Rescuers. She was a treasure!

Ms. Page was tuly spectacular in SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH. But how can a 'favorite picture' from that piece NOT include Mr. Newman?!?
Boy, oh boy, do I love Hedy Lamarr's hat!
And Veronica Lake and Joel McCrea in the same month--this calls for a Sullivan's Travels moment!
My second all-time favorite movie.

nice as always.
**queues some of these movies on my Netflix**
Sullivan's Travels is one of the best all time classic films. I love this pic of Veronica Lake from that film:
Fantastic...thank you, mamie!
My pleasure.
I just wanted to pass on my birthday greetings to that wild woman of the '30s movies, Miss Marie Dressler. If I had a Tugboat Annie DVD, I'd be playing it now!
One of her funniest clips - with Jean Harlow.

I always wished I could look like Hedy. She was, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful women of Hollywood. I don't think anybody, except Audrey Hepburn, had the class of Grace Kelly.
You'll have to do a search for the other 'angel' threads, Diva. You waited to the second from the last one! After December there'll be no more...
Mamie
Thank you so much for all the work you do to bring us these Angel threads. There are some wonderful screen legends here.
oh, my beautiful Vivien Leigh. Talk about faces.
Gorgeous!
