My gosh Mamie!
You've outdone yourself!
Those ladies are so beautiful.
Myrna, Lucy, Billie, Mae!
I just looked again and each of them is gorgeous.

I can't believe how much that picture of Sylvia Sidney looks like Annette Benning.
Thanks, Mamie - I love these threads!

And Gail Fisher is Peggy from Manix?
I used to love her! I especially remember when she went under cover as a hooker.
Watched Diary of Anne Frank this morning.
Shelley was great.
I think Marilyn Maxwell has a Barbara Stanwyk thing going and Marjorie Reynolds is a cross between Judy G. and Lana Turner.

Thanks for sharing those Mamie..they're all so beautiful.
I do have a question for you though....what about the men? Were they not passing angels?

Boobsy darlin' - do you have any idea how long this takes? I always have a couple of months started and I work on them whenever I can find the time. It nearly did me in to bypass some of the incredible gents who were born in October! (I'm hereby nominating Jerry O for sainthood....)
ANYWAY - how about next year? I started these angels in February so I'll keep the ladies going through Jan and then start on the gents, OK? I just don't have the time to do them all!

Mamie, thanks for working so hard and I love seeing the glam shots of women each month. :)

Posted: 8/1/06 at 8:54pmI've been a huge fan of Martha Raye's since I was real tiny. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to come across this photo of her. Clownish pics of Martha are a dime a dozen, but this glamour shot was a rarity.

I can never get enough of Joan Blondell, and glad that Dvorak wasn't forgotten, she was quite a talent as well.
And I can totally see the Bening/Sidney thing as well!

Don't forget Clara Bow -- although for some reason, I've always found conflicting birthdates for her, one being July 29 and the other being Aug. 25.

Wow, after seeing that above...
Is it me, or does Patti Cohenour look almost exactly like Billie Burke???
And if you agree... don't you think Patti should star in a musical based on Miss Burke's life? I think it would make a terrific Broadway show, and Patti would be wonderful as the former stage star... the widowed Mrs. Ziegfeld who picks up the pieces of her shattered storybook life and returns to acting after her legendary husband's death.
