Passion Pit: The Reeling

People! There are artists making pop music with genuine ebullience! You just have to know where to look.

I'm confused. That's Sandra Bernhardt.

Nice! I didn't have a chance to watch their videos after you posted about them but I went to their MySpace page and have been playing those tracks a lot. I have myself on a strict budget so I won't be buying the entire CD for a few weeks. It will be my treat to myself! I find their music, as does my best friend, to be refreshing. A mixture of styles that blend really well together. And they go really well with c****nay on a cool Friday evening!

Wow. Who knew you cant put the word c h a r d o n a y past the censorship filter?

Passion Pit and MGMT and Animal Collective and the like are definitely a sound of the moment, a kind of movement with no name. Which is a-okay by me.

Wow! Is that a bad word?

I will have to check out the others you mentioned. I am alway on the lookout for new music. my tastes run the gammut. I am really over a lot of the popular stuff. I thought I was just getting old but I realized that I was just wanting something new to listen to.

2 others I would suggset (They are older. Not sure that they are something you may like) Are Royksopp's Melody A.M. (It has "Remember Me" from the Geico commercial on it with the ape guy walking through the airport) I bought it because of that song and grew to like the whole CD. Another is dZihan & Kamien's Gran Riserva. I also stumbled on a group a few years back called "ON" and the CD Shifting Skin. I also like the "Another Late Night" series.

Love MGMT, and I just got turned on to Passion Pit by a review in Rolling Stone (or Spin, I forget).

Another great sounding band I'm fond of is Grizzly Bear. Don't know if they would be classified in the same category, but in terms of being indescribable they definitely fit the bill.

LOVE Grizzly Bear! They were on Letterman a few times and that's what turned me on to them. Aren't they out of Brooklyn? Love the song "Two Weeks".
