If "every democrat" was embarassed by Pelosi. It's hard to imagine how the Republicans feel after 8 years of a train wreck administration known as Bush/Cheney. They must be suicidal.

Bickle what are you on? Do you even understand a thing about this? What's with the rush? Pelosi's speech did not change a single person's vote.

If Pelosi can't get her team to pass some version of the financial rescue package Fri she's a goner anyway as Majority Leader.
I find Pelosi's ethics issues disturbing as well as those of Libby Dole who voted in favor of bailing out AIG while holding several million dollars worth of AIG stock. Libby sits on the Senate Banking, House and Urban Affairs committee.

Why do you people act as though this is/was the ONLY solution? Nancy Pelosi has been a "goner" as far as most Democrats were concerned ages ago when she put impeachment off the table. She is a spineless hack.
The fact that she supports this AT ALL is VERY disconcerting for people that believe it is the wrong thing to do (most economists) and for people that have seen Bush/Cheney's work.

IMO it didn't matter what people thought about any rescue measure before last night. The House punted the baby up to the Senate so that the two presidential candidates could show some leadership before the electorate. Obama and McCain's complicity gives the House an "out" now to dampen the fallout from the bill's inevitable passage.
It's all about the blame game bro.
If this were not an election year, neither the Senate's nor House's version would stand a snowball's chances in Hell of passage.
Yeah, Pelosi's got her share of detractors in part for the reason you point out mejust. But, she's got a loyal following as well, especially amongst women in your party.
I find her useless on several counts but ain't got a dog in the race.

Pelosi was forced today to come out and say that, "I know how to run the house. We won't take a bill to the floor that we can't pass."
Wow. She has the courage of a damn fool. When she loses again, she will have to resign!
