So, who's NOT watching the Golden Globes?
My mom's watching "Tess of the D'Urbervilles" right now on our TV instead, and I don't quite get what's coming on, because it's the second episode. The male lead's name is Angel and he is a bit of a git. But he kind of reminds me of Christian Borle.
I'm watching 24, and am kind of "ehh" so far. I hate snarky Senators and FBI Agents who high and mightily proclaim to Jack that they "work within the confines of the law even if it's inconvenient."
Also, where is Chloe??? She needs to be there!
Schmerg, I know where you live (well not specifically but generally) and I doubt you only have the one TV. Why are you blowing off the Globes?
I'm teasing you of course.....
B-b-but I do only have one TV! And I don't have cable, either...
My parents are band teachers around here. 'Nuff said...
Anyway, my parents think award shows are trashy anyway (I have to watch the Tony's on YT). But I looked up who won the Golden Globes on imdb!
I would rather look up the winners on imdb than watch that mess.
Edit: Impaler, I agree with your parents.

I was at the closing of Spamalot, so yeah, that was a little more important than the Golden Globes to me. Besides, I really only care that Tina Fey won one.
I was going to watch the Globes but we had a Brad Pitt marathon instead.
I think I made a wise choice.
I rented Annie Get Your Gun from Blockbuster and watched that instead. I'm glad I didn't watch because I couldn't have dealt with Kate Winslet's speech haha
I never watch award shows. My wife and I watched The Count of Monte Cristo, which we had never seen. It was excellent. Not sure why it took us so long to see it?

Forgive me but I stopped watching the Oscars ten years ago and have never watched any other award shows since except the Tonys. I guess I feel that live stage actors are more deserving of awards.
I don't think any of them are deserving of awards. It's okay if they want to continually be self-congratulatory, but it's the acceptance speeches peppered with words like, "amazing cast", "brave performance", "visionary director", "delicious script", that tend to turn my stomach, and make the shows unwatchable.
I went to see "Benjamin Button" *LOVE*
And I think 30 Rock is overrated.
Not me! What's the point, really?
