People who sign their posts
re: People who sign their posts#25
Posted: 10/12/05 at 3:30pmI'm getting so thrown off by this thread because everyone is using their real names to sign and I'm left thinking "Who the hell are they talking about?"

I have no issue with it. Why would anyone have an issue with it?!?!?

re: People who sign their posts#28
Posted: 10/12/05 at 3:39pmIt doesn't bother me, I'm just curious about the reasoning behind it.

i don;t really care. I put my real name in the signature box. But I don;t think that counts.

"Carla was a notorious sock puppet of a notorious poster."
And that's exactly what amused me. That and seeing the people respond that had no idea.

Carla was so random and only posted so sporadically that it was always a highlight for me.
But then, I disappeared for a month, and so I may have missed some actually aggressive stuff...

I generally only sign posts when they're me requesting information from other members, giving an honest opinion, or being in some other way completely serious. These are often posts that look as though they are in paragraph form, as opposed to my usual every-thought-gets-its-own-line style.

See, now, this is what I love about the OT board. Eventually, every stray thought that has ever crossed my mind finds itself enshrined with a thread. It's like y'all have found my letters and read each one out loud. (Wooooooaaaa ohhhhhhhhhh laaaa la la la la la la ohhh la laaa woaaa laa Aaaalaaaaaa)
The whole signing-the-posts thing does seem a bit odd. It's like they mean to say "The preceeding post has been an official announcement by _______".
But, to each his own. It's not in the same league as being a child molestor or voting Republican or anything.

It's a little personal touch. I don't normally do it.
