He died @ age 81.
Best known for playing Adam in Bonanza & Trapper John in the show of the same name. He also was in the musical mata hari that closed out of town in the 60's & played Rhett Butler in the short lived US version of the musical Gone With the Wind.

Rest In Peace Mr. Roberts.
Thanks for the link, Rox...
I mean, Romantico.
Pernell Roberts was the object of my teenage lust back then!
I had such a crush on him as Adam and then again as Trapper John...I just loved that man. I am very sad now!!

Also Ingrid Bergman's leading man in a brief engagement of Captain Brassbound's Conversion by GBS in 1972; Wilmington, DC and NY for two weeks.
But the first weekend of that two week run at the Barrymore was the Tony Awards and Bergman presented score, book and then Best Musical (to Two Gentlemen of Verona).

I loved him. And because he was a very "private man" whose personal life was off-limits, I just know he might have loved me back, too.
While others were swooning over Michael Landon's "Little Joe" I had the hots for older brother "Adam". I even had one of his record albums when I was a kid. He was one sexy papi.
