Apparently this song was released in France a while back. I actually like it, though the vocal filters make her sound like Agnetha (from ABBA)'s last album, which I liked, but I have no idea why it gives a weird Swedish tinge to Petula's vocals.

Eric, thanks. Her hits, along with the Beatles' and others, were a major part of my childhood. Glad to know she's still going strong!
Her official site (petulaclark.co.uk) has news on a new album release by Sony UK next February. One of the songs on the new album is her cover of "Imagine." (Apparently she was Lennon's favorite female vocalist. It'll be interesting to hear her take on this iconic song.)
Although her original version of "Downtown" is my favorite (and one of my favorite songs period), I enjoyed watching this version by a Irish group, The Saw Doctors, which also features Ms. Clark:

That was pleasant.
" I hate that word. It's a Return." ; )
Saw her in concert last year at La Mirada. She sounded wonderful.
Comeback?
She released one single months ago and no one seemed to care.
I wouldn't classify releasing one song a 'comeback'.
What is a white supremacist doing in a Petula Clark thread?
He posts as if we care what he thinks.
It's sad. really.
I just saw this and thought it was pretty great, so thought I'd share. It's from a recent New Year's Eve TV show, where she also sang Downtown and I Couldn't Live Without Your Love. New album next month!
Petula sings Gnarls Barkley's Crazy
I enjoyed all 3 links - thanks for sharing these. I saw her in late '96 or '97 in London in Sunset Boulevard and really enjoyed her performance.
She is so incredible! And, she's 80!! She seems to have the energy of a 60 year old and still looks and sounds great. I'm so happy that she has a new album,
She never really went away. She slowed down a bit, but last year she played several dates in Canada and Australia and I think a couple of dates in USA.
last week BBC Radio 2 played a track from her new album. The track called "cut, copy me" is gorgeous. At 80 she is also airing some of her own compositions. Talk about leaving it late!!!!
Nest month she is also returning to the scene of her first French success with a concert at Le Olympia in Paris, France.

I did not see her in the SUNSET BLVD. tour, I have an acquaintance who did who said she was great (of course, she did not see Glenn Close).
