I understand when she died she was approximately 18 years behind in her ironing.
Man, August continues to be a sucky month for losing talent!
Rest in Peace dear Lady! Thanks for the years and years and years and years and years of laughter
One of the best. A legit pioneer for female comedians. For anyone who has not seen it, whether you know her or not, netflix the documentary GOODNIGHT, WE LOVE YOU.
She was a great comedienne and a pioneer. However, she was also a classically trained pianist and was extremely good. RIP
Housework can’t kill you, but why take a chance?
I have a tremendous sex drive. My boyfriend lives forty miles away.
I once wore a peek-a-boo blouse. People would peek and then they’d boo.
I never made “Who’s Who” but I’m featured in “What’s That?”
I’ve turned many a head in my day...and quite a few stomachs.
Photos of me don't do me justice. They just look like me.
Now, THIS is sad news.
One of the only comics who made me Laugh Out Loud. For real! RIP
She was working right up until the end too. A month or two ago she did a week-long guest spot on Bold & Beautiful and was hysterical. She played a gardener/impromptu minister who would perform any wedding ceremony for $20! It looked like she was having a blast and Susan Flannery was having trouble keeping a straight face.

RIP- condolences to Fang.
a funny lady.
Here's how I will remember her.
As my friend Michael made her look. She was against wearing this wig, and Michael talked her into it.
One beautiful woman.
I just saw that picture and this statement Joan Rivers made about Phyllis today:
FROM JOAN RIVERS: "I'm beyond saddened by the death of Phyllis Diller. We were friends - Melissa and I had a wonderful time with her at lunch just a month ago. The only tragedy is that she was the last from an era that insisted a woman had to look funny in order to be funny. If she had started today, Phyllis could have stood there in Dior and Harry Winston and become the major star that she was. I adored her."

Or NOT Joan. Jesus Christ. I don't know why it's so hard to believe that there are some clowns who love to be clowns. They don't, to coin a phrase, hate everybody, not even themselves.
Thank-you. Phyllis carefully developed her routine. She herself said she wore gloves because clowns wore gloves. Phyllis was funny without resorting to being a catty b*tch!

See? I didn't even know that. I just do not GET Joan Rivers anymore. When I first heard Phyllis died, I was so sad. I loved her from the first moment I saw her on Ed Sullivan when I was a little kid.
Before the Joan quote I was going to post, "She was the true groundbreaker, she had all the self-deprecating wit of Joan Rivers, who followed in her footsteps, without any of Joan's EEEEEEEVIL." But I thought, why trash Joan when celebrating Phyllis? Then Joan dragged it out of me.
Part of her schtick when she did comedy/ piano concerts was she would remove he half gloves which eneded up being ten feet long. Once she began playing she was completely serious. She strove to be a comic clown! She suceeded and achieved an immortality I don't think Joan Rivers will ever achieve.

So many of Joan's jokes start with "Dontchya' haaaaaaaaate... ?" Phyllis's were more "let's all laugh together."
DON'T YA JUST HATE IT WHEN...
...someone comes into a memorial thread for ONE celebrity and rags on another celebrity?
ANYWAY...
