It's kind of hard to explain here....but do you have Powerpoint?
Snapshot instructions - Do your picture slideshow in Powerpoint. Embed a command into one slides for the music - and once you execute the sound command, you can have the music playing at the same time as your slide show.
I will try to find more official instructions...It's tricky to remember when I'm not actually doing it.

this is so ghetto, but...
put all your pictures on a floppy disk, and bring the floppy disk to one of those kodak picture makers. it will transfer them to a cd for $3
put it in the computer and click "slide show"
bring a cd player.

I found it. On the Powerpoint menu, choose "Insert" from the top menu. Go to "movies and sounds," and choose your sound type (you can run it from an audio CD or from a file on your computer).
Have your photos on individual slides in the presentations (insert them as pictures before adding the sound), and then have the music running in the background. You can usually select to run the music in a loop until you manually stop the audio.
Sorry - I'm not sure if that makes sense or if I've made it even more confusing! I'm bad at explaining how to do things...
