Who else is all fired up for the upcoming baseball season? I'm all excited with our new R2C2 pitching rotation.
Every year before spring training I have a movie marathon of all the baseball movies I own. I started tonight with "Little Big League"
Anyone else have any pre-season rituals?

...which means Spring is around the corner!
I may have to start watching baseball movies, also!

You didn't? I remember the day picked not being good for me so I wasn't aware it never happened.
And as cheesy as it is I still love the ending of "Little Big League" when they're all cheering for him. I have to pick another movie now.
Here are the ones I own:
The Fan
The Natural
Major League
Major League 2
Major League 3
Bull Durham
Field of Dreams
For Love of the Game
Field of Dreams
Summer Catch
61*
Take Me Out to the Ballgame

You mean, besides corking my bat?

But don't you do that all year long though? There's not really a "season" for that

Eris, no Eight Men Out by John Sayles?
As for my team, ho-hum, the Phillies will win the division and it looks like our owners are broke. Perfect timing when Jose Reyes' contract is up after this season.
I still have Ike Davis.
I actually do think the team will do okay on the field, it is off-the-field as of late that is worrying me and a lot of other Mets fans.

I love Little Big League!! Such a great movie!
Why you don't have Angels in the Outfield on your list??

Because I don't own it. Don't have the room to own every movie

Posted: 2/3/11 at 1:23pmI tried but they were sold out but on stub hub you can buy standing room tickets from $45 to $99...that is the cheapest...I will be glued to my TV April 2nd to welcome back Cliffton Lee...but seriously in my partial season ticket pac I have one of the Red Sox games an if the prices keep gong up and the approach say over $400 I will be selling mine to pay for next year seats or postseason seats...I have been to many Phillies vs Red Sox games and ca live with not seeing them this year...PS whe the heck are the Yankees going to come play us at CBP...this is like the 4th year we play a Yankee Stadium and they don't come here?

Really? Indiviual tickets aren't even on sale yet. Oh that breaks my heart. I only get to see the guy once or twice a year now as it is. The Astros are Citifield during the week so I can't go to that. Oh, I could cry. I don't want to miss him

Posted: 2/3/11 at 1:51pmThey may have some individual tickets saved to go on sale...and I think it is next week they go on sale(wanna say Feb 8th) but I recommend getting them the minute they go on sale cause season tickets and partial are all wait listed so tickets will be hard to come by...I am so glad I got my partial season tickets in 2008 before the world series win cause now you have to sell your first born to ge tickets...also you may be able to stil get a 6 pack of tickets with that game included

According to phillies.com:
MVP Line (exclusive to 2011 Season Ticket Holders who are paid in full) - Monday, Feb. 7
Individual Tickets (limited availability) - Thursday, Feb. 17
I have a coworker who said he'd see what he can do. I could always ask Jason (which I have never even considered doing before)

Posted: 2/3/11 at 1:59pmit's weird they said the MVP line was Feb 7th cause I got the email Feb 1st and got home opener tickets that day, I also had a chance to buy Red Sox tickets and firework tickets, and April 2nd tickets...so keep checking the website...you never know what they are going to do.
